Secure Embeddable Browserless Wallets with Passkeys

A game-changing proposition for fintechs, crypto wallets, card issuers, and large enterprises.

If you lead product strategy at a payment or financial institution, you have probably considered launching an embeddable mobile wallet. The reasoning is clear: why surrender the relationship with your users and merchants to a third-party wallet when customers already trust you with their identity and payment credentials?

The challenge is securely and efficiently extending those user and device identities into third-party apps and checkout environments.

FIDO credentials are among the most important advances in internet security since SSL. They create a cryptographic, phishing-resistant connection between a user’s identity, their device—when the credential is device-bound—and the financial institution’s systems.

That relationship allows an institution to securely federate a user’s identity through a native mobile flow into third-party services, similar to the wallet experience Apple provides on its own devices.

A bank can provide an embeddable wallet SDK to a financing company. A crypto brokerage can enable a native crypto checkout inside a food-delivery app. In both cases, identity and payment authorization remain secure without interrupting the customer journey.

This model could be especially powerful for interoperable crypto wallets that need strong security without relying solely on passphrases or separate hardware keys.
